Cass & Ron || Love is the bridge between two hearts

Cass smiled at his response, shifting her gaze down to the emerald grass that carpeted the ground beneath their feet. She couldn’t ignore how much Ron’s approval meant to her, how his positive response brought her lips into a grin that spread all the way across her face. She looked back up at him, smiling brightly at him. “Yes, your turn. You’ve already trusted me with one big decision, and that’s enough for a life time.” She laughed, shrugging her shoulders. “However, if it’s book type decisions, then I’m your girl. But I suppose that’s a given considering I am a Ravenclaw and all. “Come on, whatever you decide I’ll be happy to do. It was your idea to go to the hill last time, and you know, watch the stars and all, and that was fun. Really, really fun.” She couldn’t help but feel slightly shocked as he suddenly bent down and pressed his lips smack onto hers, her eyes widening. But she quickly relaxed, all of a sudden noticing the warmth of his lips as they covered hers. She smiled as he pulled away, the blush continuing to linger on her cheeks. “Well I’m glad you did.” She grinned, wringing her hands together. She shifted slightly as she felt his hand resting lightly on her waist, tucking her hair behind her ear as she smiled up at him shyly. “Oh, I’m sure you have loads of ideas. Really good ones, too. See, that sounds fantastic.” She grinned, tipping slightly back and forth on her heels.

Ron chuckled and nodded. “I would gladly give you full responsibility over decision making for the book, that I assure you.” he told her with a small smile, although he knew if he ever really did go through with this book thing (which he highly doubted), he knew it’d be far too much for him to handle. When she kissed him back for the moment that his lips met hers, he smiled even when she pulled away. He felt his ears go hot and his cheeks flush pink, but he tried to ignore it as best as he possibly could. It was possibly one of the worst tells in the entire world because it was so blatantly obvious. He just turned into this embarrassing, red, sweaty ball of nerves and he looked like a bloody tomato. He averted his gaze over to a picnic blanket a little deeper into the room, and pointed to that. “How about there?” he asked, glancing back at her and smiling softly against the redness in his ears, coursing down towards his face, all the while making him feel like an idiot.

“Well thanks very much, Mr. Weasley.” She smiled goofily, dipping her head to the side in a sort of recognizing nod. “But I don’t want to take full responsibility. The book is going be filled full of your ideas, after all. I’m just the in between part that puts everything down on paper.” She grinned, crinkling her nose as she laughed. She couldn’t help but smile as he did, her the sides of her mouth twitching into an ear to ear grin. She turned her body to get a good view of the space he was referring to, her eyes drifting over to gaze upon the red and white checkered picnic blanket that had been spread out lazily on the grass. There was the perfect amount of shade, the sun’s rays just grazing over the fabric. She smiled, turning back to Ron with an affirmative nod. “That looks absolutely perfect.” She stood on her toes to plant a small peck on his cheek, taking his hand to lead him across the lush carpet of grass.

“Fantastic.” Cass smiled brightly, leaning over to nudge Ron in the rib with her elbow. “Look at us, just bursting with all these great ideas. I’d even go so far to say that we’re qualifying as geniuses now.” She laughed, the corners of her lips turning up into a grin. “Oh, I bet the world expected it all along. You’re much smarter than you give yourself credit for, Ron. I bet you don’t even need me to write this book. But I wouldn’t dare give up on my responsibilities to assist you. We are a team, after all.” She smiled, turning her head to look over at Ron.

“Was not!” She protested, sticking out her tongue. “I’m never mean to you. You hang out with me because I’m loads of fun, and obviously hilarious.” She teased, stifling a laugh. “Everyone else should be so lucky as you. I admit that spiders aren’t the most loveable creatures, but we can’t get rid of them completely. They are important, they eat all the other bugs so the world isn’t overrun. So, I mean, they’re not awful. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to let them into the RoR with us. It can be a spider free zone.”

“Really?” Cass flushed even further, her cheeks becoming illuminated with a bright pink shade. She smiled back at him widely, looking down at the ground as she clacked her nails together. “Thanks.” She looked back up as he stepped closer, her smile never faltering. She shifted slightly closer too, rocking back and forth slightly on her heels. “Oh no, I think I’ve made enough significant decisions for one day, it’s your turn now.” She shook her head, crinkling her nose. She tilted her head up, squinting slightly in the sunshine, raising her eyebrows in question.

Ron noticed the blush rise in her cheeks and he could feel his ears turn red. It had become such a thing recently that he had started to actually feel it happen. It was horrible, he had to admit. It was like whoever it was that was looking at him was suddenly able to see absolutely every emotion and fear reflected in the redness of his face and ears. “Really.” he answered back at her after a moment, still smiling down at her. He could see her moving closer to him and it took all the will in his entire body just to not lean down and wrap her up and hold her close. He just wanted to though, and he couldnt’ help that. He blamed his stupid boy feelings and his hormones, but mostly her for being so pretty. “My turn?” he asked, his eyebrows raising up relatively high. He thought for a moment and let out a long sigh. “Well…” he though, pursing his lips together. Before he could even say anything else, Ron dipped down and softly kissed her on the lips, unable to contain himself. It only lasted a few seconds, but he smiled once he pulled away. “I just wanted to kiss you again.” he said a little quieter, blushing even harder now. He was still relatively close to her, enough to feel her breath on his lips as he stood there pulled away from her. He only then realized that his hand was around her waist, and suddenly he got a little nervous. “Well…I mean…I don’t really have any ideas. I guess we could sort of lay down or sit or…anything. I mean…yeah…” he shrugged. Ron felt so stupid for stuttering on and not knowing what he was saying, but he honestly couldn’t focus, at least not while so close to Cass.

Cass smiled at his response, shifting her gaze down to the emerald grass that carpeted the ground beneath their feet. She couldn’t ignore how much Ron’s approval meant to her, how his positive response brought her lips into a grin that spread all the way across her face. “Now that is rather crazy. You sound like you might just have mastered the skill of extreme sleeping. Really? Well that is a bit comforting to know.” She felt a bit embarrassed at the thought of her own family, always feeling responsible for their horribly prudish attitudes and close mindednesss. Ron’s family always sounded so great, relaxed, and carefree, but the thought of him one day maybe meeting her own family made her squirm. “All that sounds perfect to me. I think that would work rather well. You could avoid actual work, and I could be a part of this million dollar transaction. Yes, it would be a best seller I imagine. Our ticket to fame and fortune. I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t want to be more educated on the names for the constellations, as they’ve been saying them wrong for all these years.”

“There’s not much you can do without a full stomach, which is why you are really so equipped at life.” She teased, nudging his shoulder. “Well, it’s a good rule to have. No spiders, I promise. They can have the Ror another time, when you’re not inside.”

Cass blushed, tucking her hair behind her ear. “Hmm, I wouldn’t go that far.” She laughed, smiling brightly. She clasped her hand onto her other forearm, tipping slightly back and forth on her heels. “But thank you. I’m really glad you like it.” She nodded appreciatively, taking a step forward before turning back around to face him.

Ron smiled and chuckled. “Then I think this book is a go!” he smiled at her. “Wow, I barely even read books. I’m really going to surprise the world when we collaborate and I actually write one! No one is going to know what hit them.” he laughed, shaking his head. And although he knew they were only joking, and there would be no book on the constellations, or how the Weasley’s called them, he really wished he could do that sort of thing. Not the book, that didn’t matter much to him, but prove everyone wrong and let them know that he wasn’t an idiot and he did know how to do things that everyone else did. Ron may have not gotten top grades or spend hours studying and cooped up in the library, but he was smart, and he knew that. He just wished everyone else could see that too.

“That was another fat joke.” he said, shaking his head, stealing a glance at her. “You are so mean to me. Why do I even hang around with you?” Ron sighed, shaking his head once again. “How about we just abolish spiders from the face of the earth and then they can never step in the RoR ever again. Except that, like, we need spiders and stuff I’ve heard.” he sighed, shaking his head mockingly this time. “I just hate them so much.” Ron spoke a little quieter, because he really, really did.

He noticed her blush, and couldn’t help but to blush himself. He could practically feel his ears turn red, and as he willed them to go back to normal, Ron just smiled at her, knowing fully that as long as she was smiling at him like that, they’d stay that way for awhile. Ron did however step closer, the same goofy smile on his face. “Well, I think it’s brilliant.” he smiled. Ron got close enough that he could take her hand, and as he did, he felt his ears turn more red. He tried to hide it, but he absolutely couldn’t. With all his might, Ron just hoped that Cass didn’t think he was a total dork. “What did you er…what did you want to do here?” he asked, looking down at her, still in such a close proximity. He also really hoped he wasn’t invading her personal space and kicked him in the crotch or something.

“Snoring? Wow, you are living on the edge. I’m surprised you haven’t obtained any battle scars.” She teased, laughing. “I don’t know. I guess everyone just isn’t as imaginative as you are. But it clearly makes much more sense than a man with a belt and a sword. In fact, I think you should write a book to educate everyone on the proper names for each one. There are quite a few, you’d better get started right now!” Cass chuckled, knocking his elbow with hers. He was lovely to talk with, she decided. It seemed so easy for him to be around other people, much the opposite of shy.

“The moon might be a bit out of our time frame, but yes, definitely next time. Isn’t there some sort of rule that you have to wait an hour after eating before you travel to the moon?” She joked, smiling brightly. “Right, no spiders. Note taken.” She tapped the side of her head with her index finger. “That much I can promise.”

“We’ll see.” Cass chuckled shaking her head. She chewed on her lip, closing her eyes as she tried to focus on exactly what she wanted. It took a minute, but before long, the door appeared and smile eclipsed her face. “Okay.” She nodded, moving forward to swing open the door. She slipped inside, waiting not far from the door for Ron to follow. The room had been transformed into what was really no longer a proper room at all, but instead what was more of a field. Lush green grass carpeted the floors, the ceiling replaced by a seemingly endless sky. Various trees and flowers littered the room, a warm blowing around them. There was a porch swing in the center of it all, that seemed to be hanging from nothing at all. A blanket lay out over to the left, a picnic basket sitting square in the middle. She kicked off her shoes, squishing the blades of grass between her toes. “So?” She smiled, whipping around to face Ron. “What do you think?”

“I know, I’m practically crazier than Harry is. I don’t know how I do it anymore. It’s a great skill to achieve.” he laughed, shaking his head. “See? You would fit right in with my family. They would love you instantly. As long as you are capable of joking around about cannibal squirrels and moose that are the greatest Quidditch players this world has ever seen, you are in.” he laughed, although it was true. He was sure that, if the time ever came, that Cass ever met his family, that they would love her. It was a good feeling, because of course Ron liked her quite a bit as well. And his family could be a little crazy at times, so it wasn’t like he was going to bring just anyone around. “I totally would…but I would get like 1 page in and have a mental breakdown because so much work.” he laughed, “What if I read it out to you and you wrote it and then changed it and it could be a collaborative thing?” he said with a smirk. “That could work. Cass & Ron’s guide to headless chipmunks of the stars.” he said with a harder laugh.

“Oh yeah, my mum used to tell me that all the time. She’d yell at me about how I should dream of the moon on a full stomach. It’s definitely a rule.” he chuckled. Ron nodded gratefully at her. “Thank you. I can handle ghosts and gouls and all of the like but…please no spiders.” he said with a nervous laugh. Even thinking of them made him itch. He just hated them so incredibly much that it was unbelievable at times.

As Ron waited, he brainstormed about all the possible things it could be. He really had no clue though, he just hoped it was something amazing. But he’d be with Cass anyway, so she could have made the Sahara desert appear and he’d still probably enjoy it. He watched her slip in and soon enough he followed behind, suddenly in awe of what her mind had done. He looked around at everything, a smile appearing wide on his face. “Cass, it’s brilliant.” he told her with a smile. “I think this is the best I have ever seen this room…” he said, almost dreamlike as he stepped in and looked around. “You’re brilliant, you know that?” he said, looking back at her and smiling, unable to keep it off his face.

“Now that is rather crazy. You sound like you might just have mastered the skill of extreme sleeping. Really? Well that is a bit comforting to know.” She felt a bit embarrassed at the thought of her own family, always feeling responsible for their horribly prudish attitudes and close mindednesss. “Exactly. You’d better be careful when you dabble in such activities. Sleeping can get pretty rowdy sometimes. Not to mention actually showing up for class.” Cass laughed, grinning back at him. “Really? Thanks.” She smiled brightly, a light blush flooding her cheeks, giving them a bright pink tint. “The lost sword of the headless chipmunk.” She shook her head, always feeling slightly floored by Ron’s imagination. She liked it, a lot. he was like no one else she had every spent time with before. “Hey, well if I ever get bored of it, I can always tell other people that that’s exactly what I got.” She laughed, grinning goofily.

“Great.” She repeated, nodding her head assuredly. “Okay, sounds perfect. An hour gives us some time.” She laughed, nudging him with her elbow. She happily accepting his hand and interlacing their fingers together. She loved the feeling of her slender hand in his, it truly felt like nothing else. “Okay, okay, fine. You’re taking a big risk here, leaving everything up to me. You do realize that you are going to be stuck with my decision?” She chuckled, turning her head to smile at him. She followed his lead forward, happy to be leaving everyone else behind.

“Oh yeah, sleeping is crazy. Sometimes I even snore.” he said, his jaw dropping slightly as he mock-gasped. Ron shook his head and smiled. “Showing up for class on time or in general is just stupid.” he joked, shaking his head. Ron laughed as she repeated what he had said because coming from anyones mouth but his own, it just sounded insane. Which it was. But it just sounded more insane now. “Yes, the lost sword of the headless chipmunk.” he told her with a smirk. “I’m pretty sure that Orion one is just a made up thing anyway. Everyone knows it’s the lost sword of the headless chipmunk. How could it not be?” he smirked, shaking his head. He laughed with her when she said she would tell that story instead, which made him shaking his head and try and picture the reactions from others.

“You can do a lot in an hour. Mind you, we can’t really go to the moon. Which was my original plan.” he told her with a frown. “Maybe next time. We’ll go right after I eat.” he laughed, shaking his head. He was beyond happy when she accepted his hand, and as they walked he couldn’t help but feel how tiny it was in his own, which was a nice thought, and feeling. “Hey, as long as it’s not spiders I’m totally cool with whatever you come up with. I trust you with this.” he told her with a smile, winking at her as they walked.

It took a little while to get up there, but they talked and laughed and had a few good jokes going, but when they finally made it there, Ron was relieved. “Okay, Evans. Here’s your moment of glory.” he smirked, letting go of her hand and stepping off to the side.

“Snoring? Wow, you are living on the edge. I’m surprised you haven’t obtained any battle scars.” She teased, laughing. “I don’t know. I guess everyone just isn’t as imaginative as you are. Cass looked up, surprised as he picked her up into a hug, but soon enough settling into it. “Hey, I missed you too.” She laughed as he lifted her up, holding fast to his neck. She pulled back as she felt her fight return to the ground, smiling at him brightly. She really had missed Ron, something she hadn’t fully realized until now, when she was actually able to see him again. “Right, I forgot I was talking to the master of the breaks. You must teach me how to relax properly sometime.”

“Yup.” She smiled proudly, twisting her hips slightly back and forth. “I know, I know. I’m even surprising myself. Of course, I wouldn’t have done it without Damia and her little pep talks to egg me on, but hey, it’s done.” She smiled as he moved closer, looking over to meet his eyes. She couldn’t help but feel a spark of happiness flare up inside her at his approval. She wasn’t even surprised to realize how much it meant to her, as her blatant feelings for him had already surprised her enough in the past few days. “You really think so?” She smiled back. “So, uh, what do you think about this one?” She looked at him questioningly, shimming up her shirt to her ribs, revealing her complimenting new tattoo.

Ron looked down at her proudly, smiling at the stud in her tongue. “You are a wild one. I’m going to need to make sure you don’t get into too much trouble, aren’t I?” he laughed, although it seemed a little hypocritical coming from him. He, Harry and Hermione had basically been causing the school grief since they arrived there. He’d never done anything cool like get a piercing or…a tattoo? Ron looked down at it and his eyebrows shot up again. “Cass!” he said with a bit of a laugh. “You really are crazy, aren’t you?” he smiled, bending down to look at it better. “What is it?” he asked curiously, still not getting a good look at it yet.

He’d definitely underestimated her, but he liked it when he did that to people. It gave them a chance to sort of prove him wrong. Cass was definitely the one person who had took that to her advantage. He figured she was just some quiet little book worm, but he was definitely wrong about that apparently. As he stood up he realized just how close they were, and instantly his ears flushed pink. He smiled looking down at her and tried his hardest to not blush too bad, they were, after all, in the middle of the Great Hall. “Didja wanna go somewhere? Unless you were hungry or something…” he figured since they were in there, but for the first time in what felt like ages, Ron wasn’t hungry at all. “We could go to the courtyard, or I hang out in the Gryffindor common room…or the RoR if you really want. I’m up for anything. Your choice…” he felt as though he was rambling but he was’t all that sure. He just knew that Cass made him feel like a bloody idiot without even trying. He blamed her smile. Her perfect smile.

“I guess I sort of am, aren’t I? You might just, since I seem to have turned into such an utter rebel. It’s funny, I always thought it was going to be the other way around, me having to look after you and your shenanigans. I’m surprising myself here.” Cass laughed, shrugging her shoulders. She truly was, never before having thought of herself as someone to lean away from the straight and narrow. Hell, rebelling for her was cutting her studying time down to two hours, and even that was on rare occasions. Nevertheless, she was beginning to enjoy this new side of herself, one that she hadn’t even known existed. “Maybe just a little.” She smiled, looking down at Ron. “It’s a constellation; Orion, see?’ She reached down, tracing the outline with her finger. “You really like it?”

“Oh, yeah, I mean, of course. I’d love to.” She smiled warmly, barely minding when her cheeks flushed pink to match Ron’s own. “Am I hungry? We really have done a bit of a personality switch, haven’t we? And we haven’t even spent that much time together.” She shook her head in mock disbelief. “Actually, I just ate before this, although I think I’m still a bit full from those gigantic waffles last week. So, let’s go somewhere, shall we? Oh, my choice? I’m terrible at making decisions, so I’m grateful for your trust.” She laughed, smiling happily. “Alright, er, how about…” She looked around the room, as if the empty tables surrounding them were going to help her decide. “How about we go to the RoR? I haven’t seen you in a while, this will give us a chance to hang out alone.”

“Looking out for me? I do nothing anymore aside from sleeping and eating and on the rare occasion I even show up on time for class!” he laughed, shaking his head. He continued to look at it for a moment before looking back at her. “I like it. I always liked Orion. Although that one was the one that Fred and I liked to call the lost sword of the headless Chipmunk, but I like your version better.” he laughed. Only ever when he was talking about it with anyone else other than his family about these things did he realize how utterly insane they sounded like. It was a surprise to him how no one had sent them away to a crazy school or something yet. It just seemed like that would be the thing that they would do.

“G-great.” Ron smiled, suddenly feeling slightly nervous. He wasn’t sure why. He was comfortable around Cass, but she was still a girl he liked. A girl he really liked. And that was really new for him. To be around a girl who he actually fancied, that he was positive fancied him too, made him slightly nervous. It felt different from past relationships he’d been in, and by past he meant with Rebekah. And even then it just felt physical. “Yeah, well, I ate an hour ago or so, so I should be good for the next hour.” he laughed, turning to head out of the Great Hall, but first offering her his hand. He hoped she took it and he didn’t look like an absolute idiot. “RoR sounds perfect. I’ll let you be in charge of what it does though. If I was to do it it’d just be a replica of the kitchen.” he laughed, walking along their way away from all their peers.

Cass & Ron || Love is the bridge between two hearts

Cass yawned, propping her chin up in her hand as she settled into her seat. For the first time she could remember, she wasn’t tired out from overly excessive studying, but from actually going out late with friends. Sadly enough, it was a whole new experience, but still, she was enjoying it, more than she would have expected. Not to mention what she was enjoying most of all, being able to spend time with Ron. She couldn’t deny that she loved being able to be with him, not that she would have wanted to anyway. He was one of the few that she truly enjoyed spending extra time with, and she was glad to be able to see him again. It felt like it had been forever since she had seen him last, even though she knew it had barely been a week. Still, she was happy to be seeing him now, and even more excited to see what he thought of her new Damia approved look.

Suddenly a voice behind her shook her from her trance, moving her back to reality. She whipped her head around, her eyes locking with the pair of bright green ones attached to the body behind her. “Hey.” She grinned, turning her body to face Ron completely. “Nah, you’ve got to take a break once in a while, right? I can’t have my nose in a book all the time.” She chuckled shaking her head. “Okay, so, are you ready to be surprised?” She spoke carefully, trying not to open her mouth too much and prematurely reveal anything. She grinned, lips shut tight, feeling a mix of nerves and pride flood her stomach. Shutting her eyes,  she stuck out her tongue, far enough to  make the piercing visible. “So? What do you think?” She laughed, raising an eyebrow expectantly.

When she whipped around and he met her eyes, a smile wider than it had been before crosses his face. He hated how stupid he probably looked becuase he didn’t really look like that most the time. But Ron also didn’t really hang out with girls that were as beautiful as Cass was. She just had an edge to her that was so new and fresh that he couldn’t help but just smile every single time that he saw her. Before she could say anything else, however, Ron scooped her up into a hug. “I just missed you, okay, just go with it.” he laughed, lifting her a few inches off the ground before he set her back down and smile. “Oh of course. I’ve been taking a break from studying for the past 5 1/2 years.” he laughed, still smiling at her.

Her surprise was definitely something he was looking forward to. He really had absolutely no clue what it was. The only thing he knew for sure was that he hoped and prayed mentally that she didn’t whip out a tarantula and tell him she had a new pet. That would definitely be a deal breaker. “I was born ready, Cass. You should know this by now.” he winked, waiting for the big reveal. When she closed her eyes he really wasn’t sure what to expect, but when she stuck out her tongue and he saw what was in it, he laughed. “You got your tongue pierced?” he raised his eyebrows, a wide grin on his face. “I think you are quite the little rebel, Miss Evans.” he smiled. He got a better look at it, moving closer without even realizing it, but smiling back down at her. “It suits you.” he smiled.
